Hiking
There are some very
beautiful walks in the area. One can step out of
the house and walk into the pine-forests. Nearby
is Lake Sulungur, with its fresh water bathing and
(almost certainly), complete privacy. There is a
trail which leads to stunning views overlooking
the sea and of course one can wend ones way down
to the beach itself. Climbing up the hill leads
eventually to the old drove roads where the camel
trains used to travel between Fethiye and Izmir
(Telmessos and Smyrna).
Local guide Murat Demirci (0533 694 0923 or tmdemirci@gmail.com)
also leads groups on lovely walks.
Walking along the beach is a favourite activity,
with the dolmus (bus) and boat at either end to
ferry you.
Further afield there are the mountains, with either
organized walks or enjoy your own.
The Lycian Way, one of the world's great walks,
runs from Fetiye to Antalya.
Why not combine part of the
Way with a rest (or recovery) at Gokce Evi?
