When you arrive

Transfers from Dalaman airport can be arranged through us and is recommended. An agent from Oruc travel will meet you and take you to Gokce Evi. Many flights arrive in the night so as well as the welcome pack included, a Turkish breakfast can be provided for the next morning, if required, for a small price.

All bed linen and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.

There is no maid service, but bed linen will be changed weekly.

Car hire is recommended, although there is a bus service to and from Dalyan and the beach (ends 6pm). The road is extremely steep so only very fit people could manage with bicycles! You can also hire motor bikes. Please get in touch for the latest car hire prices, which we can arrange for you.

FOOD

Food is wonderful in Turkey and caters for all tastes. The vegetarian has a wide range of superb mezzes to choose from, there are wonderful kebabs and casseroles for the meat eater and Dalyan itself means “fishing weir”.

Part of your holiday fun will be trying the various restaurants. Our recommendations are at the house, but please feel free to add on your own discoveries. One very popular speciality are the “gozleme” or pancakes. Fillings include local cheese and herbs or local honey. In Gokbel there are 3 gozleme, a basic restaurant and the upmarket Villa Gokbel, where you can order a meal in the morning. (It has a superb terrace and bar with the best view in Gokbel). Also we have an arrangement with our neighbours to provide meals at very reasonable prices. Inema uses produce from her garden and serves the most delicious food.

There are also a number of supermarkets in Dalyan that sell all the basics, and a few greengrocers. Most people stock up on fruit and vegetables at the market on Saturday (there is also a market at Koycegiz on Monday).
